Agartala May 26: A Geographical Indication Awareness Seminar was held on Friday at Pragya Bhavan, Agartala, on the initiative of NARAMEC in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the State Government. Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated this seminar.
Secretary of Agriculture Department along with Naramek officials were present. Farmers from different parts of the state participated in this day’s seminar. While discussing at the seminar, Minister Ratan Lal Nath said Farmers’ Production Organization never existed in India. The prime minister of the country has set a target of building 10,000 farmer producer organizations. Already about 5 thousand farmers producer organizations have been formed.
Prime Minister is launching new projects from time to time for the development of farmers. At present, the central government is giving soil health card. Drone technology has been introduced in the field of agriculture to connect farmers with modern technology. Kisan Rail has been launched. This allows the farmers to safely transport their produce to the market. Minister Ratan Lal Nath also said that the budget has been increased in the field of agriculture.
