Dr. Bibhas Kanti Kilikdar Sworn in as State’s Third Lokayukta

Agartala: August 16:  On Friday afternoon, Dr. Bibhas Kanta Kilikdar was sworn in as the state’s third Lokayukta at the Raj Bhavan. The oath of office was a: dministered by Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, and various other officials.

Dr. Kilikdar, a retired judge and distinguished academic, succeeds Lokayukta K.N. Bhattacharya. In his address after taking the oath, Dr. Kilikdar emphasized the importance of collective effort in combating corruption. He stated, “This is an institution where nothing can be done alone. In the fight against corruption, the cooperation of the media is needed.” He further added, “The Chief Minister also wants to bring corruption to zero. Corruption is a major disease of society. To stand against it, it is not possible alone. For that, everyone’s cooperation is needed.”
