In a touching act of compassion and administrative responsibility, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar on Tuesday reached out to support the distressed family of late Paresh Biswas from Kanchanmala, Ward No. 3. Biswas passed away a year ago, leaving behind his elderly mother, ailing wife, and two young daughters, who have since been struggling to survive without a stable source of income.
Following his untimely demise, the family was pushed into severe financial hardship. With no earning member, they have been facing immense difficulty in meeting even their basic daily needs. Biswas’s elderly mother is unable to work due to her age, while his wife, Monika Biswas, is battling illness, further limiting her ability to manage household responsibilities or earn a livelihood. The situation has been especially challenging for their two daughters, whose education has been at risk due to the family’s inability to afford necessary expenses.
The family’s plight had earlier been highlighted in local media, drawing attention from concerned citizens and authorities. Responding to the situation, Dr. Vishal Kumar personally visited their residence on Tuesday afternoon to assess their condition and offer support.
During his visit, the District Magistrate spent time interacting with each member of the family, listening attentively to their struggles. In a gesture of encouragement and support, he provided the two daughters with school uniforms, books, and notebooks, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to ensuring that their education continues uninterrupted.
The family, moved by the visit, shared their challenges openly and expressed hope for assistance. Dr. Kumar assured them that the administration would extend all possible government aid to help alleviate their financial and social difficulties. He emphasized that necessary steps would be taken to connect the family with welfare schemes and other forms of support.
Local residents have appreciated the District Magistrate’s proactive and empathetic approach, stating that such direct engagement with vulnerable families reflects a responsive and humane administration. The initiative has brought a sense of hope to the family and highlighted the importance of timely intervention in times of crisis.
