Agartala: Mar 10: The state government’s initiative to construct a primary health center within the premises of the Fourteen Gods temple has raised concerns among the Tripura community. Former Tipra Motha chief and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman visited the temple recently and highlighted the lack of communication from the government regarding the project. He emphasized the importance of informing the Tripuras about any development activities within the temple boundary to prevent misunderstandings.
Shri Debbarman revealed that some issues have emerged regarding the proposed health center. To address the matter, he held discussions with MLA Ratan Chakraborty, Secretary Kiran Gitte, and other officials. He described the meeting as a step toward resolving the concerns and mentioned that another meeting with MLAs and Samajpatis is scheduled in the coming weeks.
Highlighting the cultural significance of the temple, Shri Debbarman underlined the collective responsibility to preserve the tradition and history of the Fourteen Gods temple. He reiterated that any development work within the temple boundary should involve prior communication with the Tripura community to avoid potential conflicts.
Local MLA Ratan Chakraborty also acknowledged the misunderstandings surrounding the project. He affirmed that the government’s initiative to establish a health center had inadvertently created concerns among the Tripuras, who believe the construction is happening within the temple premises. The meeting with Shri Debbarman and other stakeholders aimed to address these issues.
Further discussions are expected in the following weeks to ensure that the tradition and sentiments associated with the Fourteen Gods temple are respected while addressing the health and development needs of the community.
