Tripura Congress President Asish Kumar Saha expressed confidence in the party’s resurgence, stating that no external support is needed. He addressed party members who switched allegiances, emphasizing the importance of party unity. Saha hinted at former Minister Billal Miah, who recently joined the BJP, in his remarks.
During an event marking the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi in Sonamura, Saha highlighted the need to work together to counter the current ruling power, drawing inspiration from the liberation of Bangladesh under Indira Gandhi’s leadership.
In response to the occasion, the Congress organized various events statewide, including a blood donation camp in Agartala, floral tributes, and flag hoisting at the Congress Bhavan. Additionally, District Congress Committees held feasts for the underprivileged in front of party offices throughout the day.
Saha’s message at the event was clear: Congress is determined to regain its strength in Tripura, and it looks to its historical figures, like Indira Gandhi, for inspiration in the democratic battle against the BJP.
