Takarjala–Jampuijala, Tripura — Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), alleging that the party has deviated from democratic values and is indulging in violence-driven politics.

Addressing a public rally in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Nirmal Debbarma for the Takarjala–Jampuijala constituency, Saha described TMP as the “Tipra Marpith Party,” accusing it of resorting to intimidation and violent tactics. He claimed that in certain areas, alleged TMP miscreants have even been involved in firing incidents.

Emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to democratic principles, the Chief Minister stated that his party does not believe in violence and instead focuses on development and good governance. Drawing a comparison, he alleged that TMP’s functioning in Tripura resembles that of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, accusing both of pursuing politics aimed at instilling fear among the public.

Saha asserted that the BJP remains undeterred by threats or intimidation. “The guardian of this party is Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said, expressing confidence in the party’s leadership and vision.

Looking ahead to the upcoming ADC elections, the Chief Minister voiced strong optimism about the formation of a “Triple-Engine” government, stating that such an outcome is inevitable. He assured that once the BJP assumes power, all irregularities and instances of corruption would be thoroughly addressed.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from Janajati women, reflecting growing political engagement at the grassroots level. Among those present was Supriya Das Dutta, President of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad, along with other party leaders.

Following the rally, the Chief Minister personally welcomed 199 voters into the BJP fold, further strengthening the party’s presence in the constituency ahead of the polls scheduled for April 12.
