Agartala: Nov 29: On Friday, the Chief Minister’s Animal Husbandry Honorarium Scheme (Second Phase) and the MPASBY scheme were launched at a ceremony. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the program held at Prajna Bhavan by lighting a lamp. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of developing the Animal Resources Development Department. He stated that the Chief Minister’s Animal Husbandry Honorarium Scheme has been launched because animal husbandry farmers are also farmers. The state and the country will progress only when the rural economy develops.
The state and central governments are working towards that goal. Many people are getting attracted to animal husbandry, and new projects are being launched to support this. In 2024-25, nearly 5,000 animal farmers have been provided with the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Animal Husbandry Honorarium Scheme. The Chief Minister elaborated on the rules for availing the benefits of the scheme.
He further mentioned that if any poor farmer’s livestock or poultry dies abnormally, there is a provision for compensation of up to Rs. 20,000. New projects under the Animal Resources Development Department are creating employment opportunities. Besides Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Minister Sudhangshu Das, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, Secretary of the Animal Resources Development Department Deepa D Nayar, and other officials were present at the event.
