AGratala: Dec 28: The current state government is continuously working for the overall welfare of the public, said Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha. Dr. Saha made these remarks while inaugurating a voluntary blood donation camp organized by the Nine Bullets Club in Krishna Nagar, Agartala, on Saturday. During his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the critical importance of blood donation, stating that there is no substitute for blood. He pointed out that in blood banks and donation camps, the number of negative blood group donations is often lower than positive groups, making it vital to maintain an adequate supply of negative blood. Dr. Saha noted that the government has formed a Blood Circulation Committee to address the growing need for blood and to balance the supply and demand.

The Chief Minister also commended Nine Bullets Club for its active involvement in social welfare, not just as a football club. The club has been engaged in various charitable activities, including distributing clothes, helping the poor, and providing assistance during the COVID-19 crisis. He also expressed his happiness that the club’s president and secretary are women, aligning with the government’s commitment to women’s welfare and empowerment. The government is dedicated to working for the empowerment of women and the overall progress of society, and initiatives like blood donation camps contribute to creating a healthier and more vibrant community.

The event was also attended by several distinguished guests, including Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Corporator and Club President Bhastati Debbarma, and other prominent individuals. The Chief Minister encouraged the blood donors by visiting the camp and expressed appreciation for their participation. The camp saw a large number of people donating blood.
