Agartala, May 29: Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday called upon Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to deepen their ideological commitment and strengthen the party’s grassroots presence while addressing the concluding session of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Training Mahabhiyan 2026 at Ramnagar Mandal.

Addressing trainees, party functionaries and local workers, Chowdhury described the campaign as an important organisational initiative aimed at preparing dedicated and disciplined cadres across Tripura. He said the training programme was not merely a routine exercise but a platform to reinforce the BJP’s ideological foundation and service-oriented approach.

“This training is about discipline, ideology and service. It is designed to ensure that our workers can effectively carry the government’s welfare and development programmes to the people in the right spirit,” the Minister said.

He noted that the two-day training camp featured detailed discussions on various welfare schemes and development initiatives undertaken by both the Central and the state governments. According to him, the objective was to equip party workers with the knowledge and communication skills necessary to help citizens understand and benefit from government programmes.

Chowdhury stressed that party workers play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the government and the people. He urged participants to make the organisation more active, responsive and people-oriented at every level.

The Minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening local committees and maintaining close engagement with communities. He said workers should focus on improving public outreach and ensuring that the benefits of development initiatives reach every section of society.

During the camp, party workers participated in interactive sessions focused on organisational strengthening, public communication strategies and expanding the BJP’s grassroots network. Discussions also centred on enhancing coordination among local units and improving responsiveness to public concerns.

Emphasising the BJP’s organisational philosophy, Chowdhury said the party’s real strength lies in its deep connection with the people. He remarked that continuous training and ideological orientation are essential for sustaining that bond and building a stronger organisation in the state.

The programme concluded with party leaders expressing confidence that the training initiative would help energise workers ahead of upcoming political and organisational activities in Tripura.
