Agartala, May 29: The Unakoti district administration has successfully concluded a week-long Janbhagidari Abhiyan, during which 69 service camps were organised across various block areas between May 18 and May 25, benefiting nearly 26,000 people through doorstep delivery of government services.

The details were shared during a press conference held at the office of the District Magistrate in Unakoti district. District Magistrate Megha Jain said the initiative was aimed at ensuring easy access to essential welfare schemes and public services, especially for people living in rural and remote areas.

According to officials, the camps offered a wide range of citizen-centric services including Aadhaar enrolment, Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates, Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificates (PRTC), ration cards, Ayushman Bharat health cards and enrolment under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

“The response from the public was very encouraging. Through these camps, nearly 26,000 beneficiaries could directly access important government services without having to travel long distances,” the District Magistrate said.

The administration stated that the campaign was designed to strengthen participatory governance and improve coordination between government departments and citizens. Various departments worked together to ensure smooth delivery of services and timely assistance to applicants.

The Health Department also actively participated in the programme by conducting awareness campaigns on measles and rubella prevention. Health officials interacted with local residents and spread awareness regarding vaccination, disease prevention and other healthcare-related services.

Senior officials including Additional District Magistrate Sagar Shovon Debnath and District Welfare Officer E. Jongte were present during the press conference. They highlighted that such outreach initiatives help build greater trust between the administration and the public while ensuring transparency in governance.

Officials further said that the Janbhagidari Abhiyan reflects the government’s emphasis on inclusive development and citizen engagement. By taking welfare services directly to the people, especially in rural areas, the administration aimed to make governance more accessible, responsive and effective.

The district administration described the campaign as a successful model of grassroots governance and indicated that similar outreach programmes may be organised in the future to improve public service delivery across the district.
