In an official communication dated March 2, 2026, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat confirmed that the proposal submitted by Deb has been received and forwarded to the concerned department for necessary action in accordance with established norms.

The proposal focuses on upgrading infrastructure and improving facilities at three prominent temples in the region — Jogamaya Kalibari, Raj Rajeshwari Kalibari, and Daityeshwari Kalibari. These temples are regarded as important spiritual centres and attract a large number of devotees throughout the year.

Reacting to the development, Deb expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for taking prompt action on the proposal. He said the initiative would significantly improve facilities for pilgrims and devotees visiting the temples while also helping preserve their historical and cultural significance.

“I sincerely thank Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for initiating the process of infrastructure development at Jogamaya Kalibari, Raj Rajeshwari Kalibari, and Daityeshwari Kalibari. This step will not only benefit devotees but also strengthen Tripura’s cultural and spiritual heritage,” Deb said.

The proposed development is expected to include improvements in basic infrastructure, visitor amenities, and accessibility around the temple premises. Such measures could also contribute to promoting cultural and religious tourism in the region.

Local residents and devotees have welcomed the initiative, viewing it as an important step towards preserving heritage sites while enhancing the overall experience for pilgrims visiting these historic temples in South Tripura.
