Agartala: August 16: Late last night, miscreants attacked the house of Congress worker and retired police constable Kuldeep Bahadur Roy at Bagan House in Ed Nagar. Family members have alleged that the attack was led by corporator Alak Roy. Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha visited the site this morning after receiving the news.

The incident follows an earlier altercation where Kuldeep Bahadur Roy’s son, Debbrat Bahadur Roy, was beaten for allegedly joining the Congress three days ago. A case was filed at the police station regarding that incident. Yesterday afternoon, pressure was reportedly applied to withdraw the case, and the attack on the house is believed to have been carried out because the case was not withdrawn.

Upon receiving information about the attack, police from Amtali police station rushed to the scene. Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha informed reporters that the miscreants had damaged the kitchen. He met with the Superintendent of Police (SP) to arrange security and requested the immediate arrest of the culprits.
