Agartala: Feb 14: The All Tripura Unorganized Workers’ Congress (ATAUWC) will hold its state-level conference, where various demands of workers and farmers will be discussed. This announcement was made today by Pradesh Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty during a press conference at the Pradesh Congress office.

Chakraborty criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reducing funding for farmers in the 2025-26 Union Budget. He alleged that the government has consistently cut financial allocations for farmers while extending benefits to corporate capitalists. He also highlighted that the three controversial farm laws were repealed, but a “black law” was enacted in their place, which, according to him, only benefits corporate moguls rather than the farmers.

Additionally, Chakraborty pointed out that under the current BJP government, significant amendments have been made to both labor laws and agricultural laws, which have resulted in various difficulties for farmers and workers. He specifically mentioned that farmers are not receiving fair prices for their produce, which has created widespread dissatisfaction in rural areas.

To address these ongoing issues and raise awareness, the Congress has called for the All Tripura Unorganized Workers’ Congress conference, where the state-level issues concerning labor and agriculture will be discussed. This conference aims to shed light on the problems faced by the state’s working class and agricultural communities, and to discuss possible solutions to their grievances.
