Assam Police Seizes Massive Drug-Laced Cough Syrup Shipment from Stone-Laden Truck

Agartala: Feb 14:: In a significant operation, the Assam Police apprehended a substantial consignment of drug-laced cough syrup from a stone-laden truck during routine checks in Nagaon district. Acting on a tip-off, a dedicated team of police personnel intercepted the truck with registration number AS-28-AC-0530 in the Jakhalabandha area.

Upon thorough inspection, authorities discovered 17,800 bottles of cough syrup cleverly concealed beneath the stones. The estimated market value of the seized drugs stands at a staggering Rs 1.5 crore.

Regrettably, the truck’s driver managed to evade capture and fled the scene.

The police promptly registered a case and initiated a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
