Agartala: ar 13: The Amtali police have arrested Biplab Majumdar, a figure known for his alleged involvement in criminal activities in the region. Residents of the area have reportedly faced difficulties due to his actions over an extended period. Legal proceedings against him commenced on Wednesday night.

Biplab Majumdar, son of Raghu Majumdar from the vicinity of Bhola Giri Ashram in Amtali, has been associated with multiple legal cases. In 2013, he was involved in an incident where a TSR jawan stationed at the Amtali police station was assaulted. Since then, several cases have been registered against him under various sections.

 

On Wednesday night, Majumdar reportedly confronted the Amtali police, leading to his arrest. Upon being brought to the police station, he allegedly used abusive language and issued threats. According to sources, legal action has been initiated following his arrest.

 

Residents of the area have expressed relief at the development, as they had reportedly endured significant challenges due to his activities.
