Sushmita Sarkar, a resident of Tripura (Sabroom), has been selected as one of the Fellows of the Schmid Science Program.
She is one of the first few Indians to receive this award and certainly the first from Tripura
The Schmidt Science Fellows Program is one of the most prestigious fellowships in the world It is headed by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt Winners can do a research of their interest anywhere in the world The Schmid Science Program is highly competitive, as only 32 people worldwide are selected for science and engineering. Sushmita was born in Sabrum town Father Sunil Sarkar is a contractor, his two daughters, elder daughter Sushmita Sarkar and younger daughter Tanuka Sarkar are doctors. Sushmita Sabroom studied in 12th standard school and passed her secondary in 2009. Passed Class XII from Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan, Agartala She received his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Agartala National Institute of Technology in 2015.She then came to USA in 2015 to pursue his Master’s degree. She chose mechanical engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, USA, where she worked on lithium-ion batteries. She then moved to Purdue University West Lafayette for his PhD research, on sodium-ion batteries. She has made significant progress in this field which has been published in the world’s most prestigious journals.
