Agartala: Apr 30:  The Bru rehabilitation has been initiated since 2022 here in West Kalajhari mountain ranges under Amar Pur forest range in Gomati Tripura. The Mizoram Reang Bru refugees have been provided resettlement in West Kalajhari mountain forest ranges where around 500 families were given resettlement in a wide colony. As per the report, the government of India has approved 45 hectares of forest land for divertion for this Bru resettlement in West Kalajhari mountain ranges but sources said that the forest land has been captured more than 45 hectares and the additional forest land that has been  captured is illegal. More allegations have been raised over this resettlement area that it was dense forest mountain range and a large quantity of trees have been destroyed which is a great loss for the forest department. Generally for rehabilitation area should be degrated land but in Kalajhari area abundant  of forest tress have been cut off. When media persons asked the concerned PCCF & other departmental high ranking officials over the land approval of the government of India for this project they have ignored to reply. In the other hand, a helipad is constructing just nearby this colony for which forest land has been occupied without the legal approval of the central government, drozers are using to clean forest and leveling soil, sources said.
