All four accused found guilty in Bodhisattya case, sentencing announced on Saturday.

On the night of August 3, 2019, Bank Manager Bodhisattya Das was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon at Jackson Gate in the city. Then Bodhisattya Das, manager of UCO Bank’s Dharmanagar branch, died in a Kolkata hospital. The names of four accused have come up in this murder case . The accused are Sumit Chowdhury alias Babai, son of Karndhar of Kalika Jewellers, Sumit Banik alias Bapi, a contractor of Collegetila area, former traffic police inspector Sukant Biswas and Swaib Mia alias Omar Sharif.
On December 4, 2019, the mother of Bodhisattva Das filed a case in the police station. Bodhisattva was still alive. He was sent to Medica Sundar Specialty Hospital in Kolkata on 7th August 2019 from GB Hospital. He died in that hospital on August 16 at 9:30 am.
After investigating this sensational case, the investigating police submitted the charge sheet under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code in the court. After listening to various witnesses for two years, the court on Friday found the four accused guilty. The District and Sessions Court will announce their sentence on Saturday.
