Ahmedabad, Aug 22: A shocking incident at Seventh Day Adventist High School in Khokhra has shaken the city after a Class 10 student was fatally stabbed by a fellow student. The tragedy triggered massive protests outside the school, where thousands — including the victim’s family, members of the Sindhi community, parents, and Hindu organisations — gathered demanding swift justice.

The Ahmedabad crime branch has booked the school and its principal, Dr. G. Immanuel, on charges of negligence. Investigators allege the administration failed to immediately inform police and delayed notifying the victim’s family about the stabbing. A separate FIR under Sections 211 and 239 has been lodged against the school for serious lapses.

Probe findings reveal shocking negligence. Despite the boy lying injured for nearly 38 minutes, the school neither provided first aid nor used vehicles on campus to rush him to hospital. Authorities further claim the school ignored repeated clashes between the victim and the accused, despite clear signs of escalating tension.

According to police, the fatal assault was an act of revenge. The accused, holding a grudge from a previous altercation, gathered a group of 7–8 peers after school hours and attacked the victim with a knife. Though rushed to hospital, the boy succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Two juveniles have since been detained.

The spotlight has now turned to Dr. Immanuel, who is not only the school principal but also president of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). Parents allege he ignored repeated complaints of bullying and violence within the school.

Run by the Ashlock Trust under the global Seventh-day Adventist Church network, the institution now faces intense scrutiny. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, raising grave questions about student safety, school accountability, and the responsibility of administrators in preventing campus violence.
