Local administration officials, including Kailashahar Sub-Divisional Officer Pradeep Sarkar, Archaeological Survey of India’s Unkote district conservation assistant Abhishek Kumar, Gournagar block BDO Pranay Das, and Deorachhara ADC village secretary Umesh Namoh, visited the site. Villagers have begun worshiping the statue, lighting incense sticks and candles. Opinions vary among the villagers, with some believing it to be a statue of Brahma, others Ganesha, and some Shiva.

The statue is believed to be several hundred years old. Sub-Divisional Officer Pradeep Sarkar stated that, at first glance, it appears to be a stone statue, and archaeological officer Abhishek Kumar is in contact with his superiors. Until further instructions are received, the statue will remain at the site. The Unkote tourist center is three kilometers away from Bhuiyapara, and the largest stone Shiva lingam in Asia is located in the nearby Shiva Bari village. Sarkar suggested that the discovered statue could be of a similar type. Later, on the instructions of the concerned department, Gournagar block BDO Pranay Das transported the statue to the Unkote district magistrate’s office. The statue continues to attract visitors to the magistrate’s office.
