Agartala, December 29: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) again conducted raids in Tripura late last night. In that operation, 2 accomplices of human traffickers from Tripura were taken into custody by the NIA.
The state has managed to nab the two youths named Suman Tripura (30) resident of Ailamara area under Sabrum police station and Kangphru Mugh (38) resident of Vaishnabpur area.
Incidentally, Rohingyas are illegally entering India through the Indo-Bangla border with the help of various touts or middlemen. On November 8, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in various states including Tripura. A statement from the NIA said that a total of 44 touts or middlemen from various states, including 21 from Tripura, were arrested in that operation.
The NIA statement also informed that 4 cases of human trafficking were registered in the NIA branches of Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur. In view of that, this operation was conducted simultaneously in 55 places in 10 states and Union Territories. This led to the busting of human trafficking gangs in 5 states.
