2016 terror incidents organized in the state centered on the assembly election results. These incidents were reported to the Chief Minister. And five people were killed in the state from before the poll results to after the results were announced.
Four of them died due to terrorism. Therefore, the Chief Minister has been asked to take responsibility of the administration so that the administration is used impartially to stop the incidents of terrorism immediately and all the political parties can carry out their democratic activities peacefully. Police Bureau member leader Manik Sarkar said this at a press conference organized at the CPIM state office after a Left Front delegation met the Chief Minister on Monday. He said that after the results of the polls, the youth section of ABIJP is the most affected. Some are without state. Not only that, after the results of the polls, the miscreants sheltered by the ruling party called it an attack on people’s employment, burned many autos, burned rubber plantations. ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and pump operators are voluntarily sent home with forced signatures. Even those who are government employees who are supporters of the opposition party are not allowed to return home by the miscreants of the ruling party in the area. A government employee came home in Jogendranagar area on Sunday night. The employee was taken to the party office by BJP miscreants and beaten severely. Those who want to go to the police station to protest against these incidents, the police are accepting false cases against the victims.
If these continue, how will people live in the state? The Chief Minister has been asked to order him to take a neutral role in the general administration in an urgent discussion. The chief minister was also told that the responsibility of the ruling party is to maintain peace. So he directed the party on one side and the administration on the other side to take the role of dealing with the situation strictly. Because the Chief Minister has been asked to play an effective role to prevent the recurrence of terrorism in the state of Tripura for the last five years. In view of this, the Chief Minister said that he will consider the matter. One more thing has been informed to the Chief Minister. To help those who have succumbed to terrorism.
In the organized press conference, Manik Sarkar, a member of Police Bureau, claimed that many party offices of CPIM, including Shanti Ganj, Shantir Bazar, Manik Bhandar, are closed. Arrangements should be made to open the offices. So that the party workers can work in these offices. On this day Shri Sarkar said that BJP had expected to win by getting more seats. Because they have government at center and state. As in the previous elections, the assembly elections will be contested. And money power will be used properly. But it has been seen that they have lost many votes. The government had to be formed after getting only 39 percent votes. Manik Sarkar, a member of Police Bureau, expressed the opinion that they are bringing down this attack. All the delegations were also present in the organized press conference.
Almost a month and a half is going to pass after the announcement of the poll results. The opposition alleges that terrorism is ongoing. Similar to the way in which terrorism was unleashed across the state after the declaration of the 2018 election results, terror has started across the state after the declaration of the 2023 assembly election results.
The terror that started after the announcement of the election results is not going to stop. The chief minister of the state has called for an end to terrorism but nothing is being done. Along with house to house attacks, extortion is going on. Terrorism is going on everywhere from Sabroom to Choraibari. Setting fire to rubber plantations, forcefully extorting money from people, vandalizing houses, obstructing workplaces, closing down shops are constantly happening. Complaints of opposition party workers being prevented from leaving with vehicles in Sabroom, Churaibari, Udaipur etc. Opposition party workers and supporters in Jolaibari, Rishyamukh, Khowai etc. In some places, the name of a section of unenthusiastic members of the ruling party is directly associated with all these incidents.
Finally, a delegation of the Left Front approached the Chief Minister to stop all these incidents. On this day, CPIM State Secretary and MLA Jitendra Chowdhury and former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar led by Left Front convener Narayan Kar, former Minister Manik Dey, former MLA Pabitra Kar, former MLA Sudhan Das went to the official residence of Chief Minister Doctor Manik Sahar and met the Chief Minister. They informed the Chief Minister about the terror going on across the state and demanded appropriate action. After the meeting with the Chief Minister, CPIM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury told reporters that there was a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister about the terrorism going on across the state. Allegations raised by the opposition have been repeatedly denied by the ruling party. But there is no denying that terrorism is happening across the state because some incidents have already come to light. Naturally, in order to prevent these incidents, the government as well as the ruling party must take initiatives. Political experts are of the opinion that it will be good for the party if the ruling party takes strict measures against those who want to use the name of the party to serve their own interests.
