Bengaluru, Oct 10 (PTI) Adarsh Lake Front (ALF), a residential community in Bengaluru, is set to organise Durga Puja for the first time, marking a significant milestone in its community life and bringing residents together to celebrate the festival’s spiritual and cultural traditions.
The inaugural celebration aims to create an atmosphere of devotion, joy and togetherness, offering residents an opportunity to participate in the rituals and festivities associated with one of Bengal’s most cherished festivals.
The event is expected to bring together families, children and residents from diverse cultural backgrounds to seek the blessings of Goddess Durga and experience the traditions, music, art and festive spirit associated with the occasion.
Durga Puja holds deep religious and cultural significance, symbolising the triumph of good over evil and the victory of righteousness. For the Bengali community, the festival also represents an emotional homecoming, connecting generations through shared customs, traditional cuisine, cultural performances and community celebrations.
The ALF initiative seeks to extend this spirit beyond cultural boundaries by providing an inclusive platform where residents can participate in the festivities, irrespective of their backgrounds.
The Puja Committee comprises Arindum Sircar, Parvez Zaman, Arnov Kumar, Soumen Sarkar, Ankita Kumari, Swati and Moumita. The members are working together to organise the community’s first Durga Puja and make the inaugural celebration a memorable occasion for residents.
Organising the festival for the first time involves collective planning, coordination and community participation. The initiative reflects the committee’s efforts to bring residents closer through shared traditions and cultural activities.
The celebration is also expected to strengthen neighbourhood relationships, encourage greater participation in community programmes and provide children with an opportunity to learn about India’s diverse cultural heritage.
As preparations gather momentum ahead of the Goddess’s arrival, excitement is building among residents, who are looking forward to welcoming Maa Durga with devotion and festive enthusiasm.
For Adarsh Lake Front, the first-ever Durga Puja represents more than a religious celebration. It marks the beginning of a shared cultural tradition that the community hopes to nurture in the coming years, fostering unity, celebrating diversity and creating lasting memories for residents and their families.
The initiative is expected to lay the foundation for an annual celebration, bringing generations together and making Durga Puja an integral part of the community’s cultural calendar.
