Agartala March 27: An important meeting was held on Monday in the conference hall of the Agartala Pur Nigam on the issue of elimination of mosquito infestation and teenage mothers.
District Health and Family Welfare Association, West Tripura Health Department organized the meeting which was attended by Mayor Deepak Majumder, West District Chief Health Officer Dr. Debashish Das, Mayor in Council members, corporators, representatives of various clubs and social organizations and officials of the Health Department. The mayor present at the meeting said that the people of Agartala are fed up with mosquito infestation. Therefore, a joint initiative of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and the Health Department has been taken to eliminate the scourge of this mosquito. The meeting was called to inform about those plans.
Such initiatives have been taken to keep Agartala city malaria free. Efforts are being made to drain the accumulated water and keep the drains clean regularly. At the same time, the death rate of young married people has increased. Mayor Deepak Majumder said that this importance has been imposed to make them aware.
