The district-level review meeting was held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate’s office and attended by officials of the Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries Department and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department.

Das, who oversees the three departments, assessed the progress of various welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented during the 2026-27 financial year.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the status of assistance and services being provided to beneficiaries under different government programmes. Discussions focused on ensuring that eligible recipients receive their entitlements within the stipulated timeframe, officials said.

Representatives of the three departments presented reports on ongoing schemes, development projects and their implementation status. The minister examined the progress and discussed measures to improve service delivery and address difficulties affecting the implementation of government initiatives.

Particular emphasis was laid on identifying administrative bottlenecks, strengthening coordination among departments and resolving procedural issues that could delay assistance to beneficiaries.

Das also discussed ways to accelerate development projects being implemented by the three departments across Khowai district. He stressed the need to complete the projects within prescribed timelines and ensure effective supervision at every stage.

The meeting highlighted the importance of regular monitoring, administrative accountability and efficient utilisation of resources allocated for welfare and development programmes.

Officials were asked to maintain coordination among the departments and strengthen field-level supervision to identify implementation challenges and take corrective measures without delay.

The review also examined the progress of ongoing projects and the need to ensure that allocated resources are used effectively to achieve the intended objectives.

Timely completion of development works and efficient delivery of public assistance were identified as key priorities for the departments during the current financial year.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on improving oversight of departmental programmes and ensuring that welfare initiatives reach their intended beneficiaries.

The review is part of the state government’s efforts to monitor the implementation of welfare schemes, improve coordination among departments and expedite development activities across districts during the 2026-27 financial year.
