Udaipur, July 3: The foundation stone for the proposed Tripurasundari Siddhapeeth Gurukul was laid on the eastern bank of Kalyan Sagar, adjacent to the historic Tripurasundari Temple at Matabari in Udaipur, marking the beginning of a project aimed at preserving India’s ancient cultural and spiritual heritage.
The ceremony was followed by a three-day religious programme featuring Vedic rituals, traditional customs, and devotional chanting. BJP Tripura president and local MLA Abhishek Debroy said the Gurukul has been envisioned as a centre for imparting value-based education rooted in Sanatan traditions.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Dr. Acharya Shankar Maharaj, other dignitaries, and several revered saints. Devotees also participated in the sacred rituals, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion, Debroy said the proposed Gurukul will serve not only as an educational institution but also as a centre for nurturing cultural, moral, and spiritual values among future generations. Along with modern education, students will be taught the principles of Sanatan Hinduism, ethical living, and the teachings of the Vedas and Upanishads.
He said the institution aims to instill discipline, character, and a deep understanding of India’s rich civilisational heritage, while encouraging young people to preserve and carry forward the country’s age-old spiritual and cultural traditions.
