Agartala, June 20: In a significant achievement for Tripura’s public healthcare system, the Deovalley Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), operating under the Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital in Unakoti district, has been awarded the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification for delivering comprehensive and high-quality primary healthcare services.
The certification follows a rigorous external assessment conducted on May 26, 2026, during which the healthcare facility was evaluated across 12 key service packages. Deovalley AAM secured an impressive overall score of 95.34 percent, successfully meeting all standards prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The achievement places the centre among a select group of public healthcare institutions in the country recognized for excellence in service delivery and quality patient care.
Health officials described the recognition as a testament to the dedication and commitment of healthcare professionals working at the facility. They noted that the certification reflects the centre’s consistent efforts to provide accessible, standardized, and people-centric healthcare services at the grassroots level.
The Ayushman Arogya Mandir offers a wide range of essential health services, including maternal and child healthcare, neonatal and infant care, adolescent health services, family planning and reproductive healthcare, management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, ophthalmic and ENT care, oral healthcare, elderly and palliative care, emergency medical services, and mental health screening and counselling.
Following the assessment, the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) advised the facility to continue strengthening its services by implementing recommendations made during the evaluation process. The centre has also been asked to submit an action plan to the State Quality Assurance Unit to ensure continuous improvement and sustained adherence to national quality benchmarks. Periodic surveillance audits will be conducted to monitor compliance and maintain service standards.
Health authorities in Tripura welcomed the achievement, stating that NQAS certification not only validates the quality of healthcare services being provided but also enhances public trust in government-run health institutions. They emphasized that such recognitions play a crucial role in improving healthcare delivery and strengthening the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
The recognition of Deovalley Ayushman Arogya Mandir marks another milestone in Tripura’s ongoing efforts to ensure quality healthcare services reach every section of society in line with national healthcare standards.
