Kalyanpur, June 3: In a gesture of compassion and social responsibility, the Kalyanpur Mandal Committee has extended financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to support the medical treatment of a young girl from the Kalyanpur-Pramodnagar Assembly constituency who is battling a serious illness.

The beneficiary, Disha Das, is the daughter of Gopal Das, a resident of Gopalnagar under Madhya Kalyanpur Gram Panchayat. She is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata after her health condition reportedly worsened in recent weeks.

According to family members, Disha was shifted to Kolkata for advanced medical care after local treatment options proved insufficient. Following a series of medical examinations, doctors advised immediate surgery to address her condition. However, the treatment and surgical expenses have placed a heavy financial burden on the family, which has been struggling to arrange the required funds.

Upon learning about the family’s situation, members of the Kalyanpur Mandal Committee stepped forward to provide financial assistance. A sum of Rs 50,000 was handed over to the family to help meet the growing medical expenses and ensure that the treatment process continues without interruption.

Representatives of the committee stated that the assistance was provided purely on humanitarian grounds. They expressed concern over the family’s difficulties and assured continued support if required in the future.

“We felt it was our responsibility to stand beside the family during this difficult time. We hope this contribution helps ease some of their financial burden and enables the child to receive the necessary treatment,” a committee member said.

The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kalyanpur Mandal Committee for the timely assistance. They also appealed to well-wishers, social organizations, and members of the public to extend support in whatever way possible to help cover the remaining medical expenses.

Members of the committee and local residents wished Disha a speedy recovery and prayed for her well-being. Locals expressed hope that with proper medical care, community support, and continued treatment, she would overcome her illness and return to normal life at the earliest.

The initiative has been widely appreciated by residents, who described it as an example of community solidarity and humanitarian concern.
