The swearing-in ceremony was held at the ADC headquarters in the presence of newly elected Members of District Council (MDCs). Meanwhile, CEM-elect Runiel Debbarma and Executive Member CK Jamatia are scheduled to take oath on Wednesday.

Following the ceremony, Tipra Motha’s MDCs, along with MLA Ranjit Debbarma and Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma, paid a courtesy visit to Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Lok Bhavan. During the meeting, the delegation formally invited the Governor to attend the upcoming swearing-in of council executives.

Speaking after the meeting, Runiel Debbarma said the Governor was briefed on the party’s internal decisions regarding the selection of the Chairman and Chief Executive Member. He added that the Governor gave a patient hearing to concerns related to the council and assured support for development initiatives. According to him, the Governor also expressed willingness to visit the ADC headquarters and remote areas lacking adequate connectivity and infrastructure.

The interaction highlighted key developmental concerns within the TTAADC, particularly in regions that remain underserved. Leaders emphasized the need for improved funding and better integration of tribal areas into mainstream development frameworks.

Earlier, Bhabaranjan Reang voiced concern over what he termed “politicisation” of funding issues related to the council. He maintained that the funds allocated to the TTAADC are insufficient to meet developmental needs and challenged critics to substantiate any contrary claims through legal means.

Outlining his priorities, Reang said his administration would focus on essential public services, including education, healthcare, and access to safe drinking water. He stressed that these sectors require immediate attention to improve the quality of life for residents in ADC areas.

The new leadership now faces the task of balancing limited resources with rising expectations, while steering the council toward inclusive and sustainable development.
