Tripura’s Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy on Sunday participated in the national-level “Chintan Shivir” held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, alongside Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya. The high-level conclave brought together ministers and officials from various states and union territories to deliberate on strategies aimed at strengthening India’s youth engagement and sports ecosystem.
The Shivir served as a key platform for dialogue, enabling policymakers to exchange ideas, share best practices, and align priorities for the development of sports infrastructure and youth-centric initiatives across the country. Discussions focused on enhancing grassroots participation, improving training facilities, and identifying pathways to nurture sporting talent from an early age.
Speaking about the event through his social media handle, Tinku Roy highlighted the importance of such collaborative platforms in fostering unity between the Centre and the states. He noted that the deliberations reaffirmed a shared commitment to building a robust, modern, and inclusive sports framework that caters to the aspirations of young people nationwide.
Roy also underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s long-term vision of transforming India into a global sporting powerhouse by 2047. He said the ideas and strategies discussed at the Shivir would play a crucial role in advancing this vision, with coordinated efforts required at both national and state levels. According to him, sustained cooperation and policy alignment will be essential to achieving measurable progress in the sector.
The minister emphasized that the outcomes of the Shivir would not remain limited to discussions but would translate into actionable steps in the coming months. He expressed confidence that the initiatives emerging from the conclave would strengthen existing programmes and introduce innovative approaches to youth development and sports promotion.
The Srinagar Chintan Shivir thus reflected the spirit of cooperative federalism, bringing together diverse stakeholders to work toward a common goal. With a renewed focus on inclusivity, infrastructure, and talent development, the event marked another step in India’s journey toward becoming a leading force in global sports.
