Agartala, Nov 13 — In the wake of major lapses in the Chief Minister’s security protocol, the Superintendent of Police (Security) has ordered a comprehensive reshuffle in the formation to tighten and streamline protective measures.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Security) Kamal Shukla Das, who had been in charge of the Chief Minister’s security, has been transferred to the Security Headquarters. He has been replaced by Additional SP (Security) Prasenjit Dey, who will now oversee all aspects of the CM’s personal protection and related arrangements.
In another key change, Dy SP (Security) Ratan Mani Debbarma, who was serving as the shift in-charge of the Chief Minister’s carcade, has also been moved to the Security Headquarters. Inspector Pallab Das has been assigned the responsibility of managing the CM’s convoy operations henceforth.
Sources said the reshuffle comes after a recent review highlighted multiple procedural lapses and coordination issues within the security team. The new appointments aim to enhance efficiency, accountability, and communication among officers. The official order also included the transfer and reassignment of several other officers and constables within the security unit to strengthen the overall security structure.
