Kumarghat, Nov 10 — In a bid to strengthen public service delivery and promote administrative accountability, Minister for SC Welfare, ARDD, and Fisheries Sudhangshu Das on Monday visited the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s Office in Kumarghat, accompanied by the District Magistrate of Unakoti.
The visit aimed to review the status of citizen-centric services and evaluate the efficiency of ongoing administrative operations within the subdivision. The Minister held detailed discussions with officials on the implementation of welfare schemes and the accessibility of essential government services to the public.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, Minister Das said that every initiative must ensure its benefits reach the most marginalized sections of society. “Our responsibility is to make sure that no eligible citizen is left behind in the development process,” he remarked.
A major point of discussion during the inspection was the optimal and timely utilization of the MLA Local Area Development Fund (MLALADF). The Minister interacted with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and other officials to identify strategies for expediting the execution of projects financed through the scheme. He directed that all such initiatives must directly cater to public needs and contribute to grassroots-level development.
Minister Das also reviewed the functioning of key departments and service counters at the SDM Office to assess public grievance redressal mechanisms. He called upon officials to maintain transparency, responsiveness, and efficiency in all administrative dealings.
Speaking to the media after the visit, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to inclusive and people-oriented governance. “The present state government is committed to extending every administrative facility to the last person in the queue. Our goal is to deliver development with accountability and compassion,” he stated.
