The inspection aligns with the state government’s “double-engine model” guided by the HIRA vision — Highways, I-ways, Railways, and Airways — for holistic development.

Among the major initiatives is the construction of a state-of-the-art motor stand in Jirania, being developed at an estimated cost of ₹13 crore. Managed by the Transport Department, the project is expected to meet the long-pending demands of local commuters and transport workers. The Minister, accompanied by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and senior officials, assessed the quality and progress of the ongoing work.

Criticizing the infrastructure legacy left behind by the previous Left Front government, Chowdhury remarked, “The outdated and crumbling structures of the past are being replaced with modern, citizen-centric facilities that meet today’s needs.”

In the administrative sector, a two-storey office building for the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Superintendent is nearing completion. The Minister, along with the SDM and officials from the Agriculture Department, visited the site and reviewed the construction standards, expressing satisfaction with the pace of work.

To strengthen healthcare services in the region, a new sub-divisional hospital is also under construction in Jirania. Chowdhury inspected the hospital site with health department officials and instructed the executing agency to maintain quality and adhere to the project timeline.

These infrastructure projects underscore the state government’s commitment to equitable development, ensuring better public services and modern amenities for citizens across Tripura.
