Agartala, June 26 — The Tripura government is considering the implementation of a comprehensive transfer policy to address the issue of employees, including teachers, being posted in one place for extended periods. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced the plan during an event held in Sepahijala district on Wednesday.

Speaking after inaugurating the new building of Madhupur Higher Secondary School, Dr. Saha emphasized the need for equitable distribution of staff across regions. He added that special cases would be given due consideration under the proposed policy to ensure fairness and efficiency.

Highlighting the government’s development agenda, Dr. Saha said the current administration is committed to the balanced growth of both urban and rural areas. “We are working with transparency and clarity in every sector,” the Chief Minister asserted.

Dr. Saha, who also holds the Education portfolio, reiterated the government’s focus on strengthening the state’s education infrastructure and improving academic outcomes. He noted a marked improvement in student performance in board examinations in recent years, which he attributed to the government’s sustained efforts in the education sector.

Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Saha said, “True progress is possible only through holistic development. Many regions were neglected after independence, but since 2014, Prime Minister Modi has led the country on the path of inclusive growth.”

The event was attended by Sepahijala Zilla Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, Bishalgarh Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Atusi Das, Education Director N.C. Sharma, District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Bijay Debbarma, and other senior officials and dignitaries.

The new school building and the transfer policy initiative reflect the state government’s continued focus on strengthening public services and improving governance across Tripura.
