Agartala: May 25: Dakshin Gokulnagar ADC village witnessed a significant public discussion as Minister Bikash Debbarma attended an open meeting in the Chinta Kumar Mausumpara area. A key issue raised was the increasing amount of uncultivated agricultural land, which farmers attributed to financial difficulties and inadequate government support. Following the discussion, Minister Debbarma personally visited the affected areas and observed the extent of fallow farmland. In response, he assured the public that the state government would soon introduce a financial package aimed at supporting cultivation efforts. “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Leaving land fallow leads to economic losses. We are actively working on a long-term solution to this issue,” he stated.

Beyond agriculture, citizens highlighted several pressing concerns, including infrastructure deficiencies, the state of education, access to clean drinking water, deteriorating roads, pension complexities, and unemployment. Minister Debbarma attentively listened to each issue and pledged to relay them to the relevant departments for swift action.

Emphasizing his commitment to the region’s development, he remarked, “I am not just a minister; I am your companion. Speak to me—I am listening, I am here. Together, we will work towards the development and self-sufficiency of this region.”

The minister’s direct engagement and field visit underscored the government’s proactive approach in addressing local challenges, fostering renewed hope among residents for effective solutions to their concerns.
