Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu formally inaugurated and flagged off the Mobile Health Care Unit Project of Sewa International and REC Foundation at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, this evening. The initiative marks a significant step toward expanding healthcare access for underserved communities across Tripura, particularly in remote and rural regions where medical services often remain limited.

Speaking at the event, Governor Reddy praised the collaboration between Sewa International and the REC Foundation, noting that such partnerships play a crucial role in strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery. He emphasized that quality healthcare should not be a privilege but a basic right accessible to every citizen, irrespective of geographical or economic barriers. The Mobile Health Care Unit, he said, would help bridge this gap by bringing essential medical services directly to those who need them the most.

The newly launched mobile unit is equipped with basic diagnostic tools, first-aid facilities, medicines, and health awareness materials. It aims to provide regular health check-ups, preliminary screenings, maternal and child healthcare services, and guidance on preventive healthcare practices. The initiative will also help raise awareness about common health issues and promote healthier lifestyles among rural populations.

Representatives from Sewa International highlighted that the project is part of their broader mission to provide humanitarian support and improve the quality of life in vulnerable communities. They expressed gratitude to the REC Foundation for its financial and logistical support, which made the project possible.

Officials from the REC Foundation also spoke on the occasion, reaffirming their commitment to supporting community-oriented initiatives under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. They noted that the Mobile Health Care Unit in Tripura is one of several such projects being implemented nationwide.

The event concluded with the Governor flagging off the vehicle, symbolizing the start of its journey across the state. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen last-mile healthcare delivery and reaffirm the state’s commitment to inclusive development.
