Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Choudhury claimed that despite more than fifty thousand vacancies across government sectors, the administration has not taken substantial steps toward recruitment. He described the government’s job offerings as insufficient, stating that they are akin to “sprinkling water in a desert” while avoiding the core problem.

According to data reportedly collected by CPI(M) office workers, at least 50,000 positions remain unfilled in the state, and the actual number could be even higher. Choudhury expressed concern over the scale of the vacancies, suggesting that comprehensive figures across all departments might reveal a more alarming situation.

He also raised questions about the recruitment process, alleging that youths from neighboring states such as West Bengal and Assam have secured Group D positions using fraudulent Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificates (PRTC). He criticized the government for allegedly failing to address this issue.

Further commenting on the state’s unemployment situation, Choudhury stated that dissatisfaction among the youth is growing, with many losing confidence in government assurances. He emphasized that “false promises cannot conceal the reality.”

The remarks come amid ongoing discussions about employment opportunities and governance in the state, highlighting the concerns surrounding job availability and recruitment practices.
