Agartala: Feb 14: The late Balai Goswami, the West District President of the BJP and Chairman of the West Tripura District Council, was paid final tributes at the State BJP office. His colleagues and associates honored his memory by laying flowers on his mortal remains. A mourning procession was then taken out through the city to mark his passing.
Earlier this afternoon, Goswami’s mortal remains were brought to Agartala, where they were given a final tribute at MBB Airport by Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other leaders. The body was then transported to the BJP office before being taken to his residence, where his colleagues continued to pay their respects.
Minister Ratan Lal Nath expressed deep sorrow over the loss, calling Balai Goswami a close companion in their long political journey. He said, “Today, I bid farewell to a very close person, a companion in long political struggles. My heart is filled with countless memories of both struggles and happy moments.” Nath prayed for Goswami’s soul to rest in peace and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family, describing the loss as irreparable for the people of Tripura.
Minister Tinku Roy also spoke about the loss, highlighting Goswami’s exceptional political skills. “He was an irreplaceable worker in our party, efficiently managing all election responsibilities,” Roy said.
Left MLA Nayan Sarkar also mourned Goswami’s passing, describing him as a skilled politician and expressing his personal grief. He extended condolences to the people of Bamutia and all of Tripura, noting that Goswami’s death is a loss to the entire state.
