Agartala, October 23:  Human trafficking across the India-Bangladesh border remains a significant concern, with minors being smuggled into India despite increased security measures.

In a recent case, police apprehended four Bangladeshi minors and an Indian national, Khokon Devnath from Odisha, who was found transporting the minors illegally. The minors, all aged 17, lacked valid documents, including passports. Authorities recovered 7,186 Bangladeshi Taka, 40,120 Indian Rupees, and five mobile phones from the group.

The police have registered a case against all individuals involved for illegal entry into India. The primary concern is understanding why minors are being targeted for such activities, especially since the minimum age for employment in India is 18. This raises questions about the motives behind bringing these minors into the country.

There are speculations about a larger conspiracy or human trafficking ring operating in the region. The police are focusing on interrogating Khokon Devnath to uncover the details of this incident and identify any potential accomplices. The investigation aims to address the broader issue of human trafficking and ensure the safety of vulnerable individuals.
