Agartala: July 29: Minister Tinku Roy has once again demonstrated his commitment to supporting the poor and helpless. In Kailashhar’s Debsthala area, a 65-year-old woman, Gita Tanti, was able to see her deceased son’s face for the last time, thanks to the minister’s intervention.

Gita Tanti and her husband, Birbal Tanti, are long-time residents of Debsthala village and have been maintaining a Jagannath Maha Prabhu temple in their home for the past thirty years, relying on donations from the community. Their son, Nepal Tanti, had moved to Bangalore to work as a security guard due to financial difficulties. Recently, Nepal fell ill and was hospitalized in Bangalore, where he unfortunately passed away.

Unable to afford the travel expenses to Bangalore, Gita Tanti reached out to Minister Tinku Roy for help. The minister contacted the hospital and paid the outstanding medical bills amounting to ₹1,07,000. He then arranged for Nepal’s body to be transported from Bangalore to Agartala by air and subsequently to Debsthala by car.

Minister Tinku Roy expressed his sorrow for not being able to bring Nepal back alive but was determined to ensure that Gita Tanti could see her son’s body. He also advised the youth to thoroughly research their employers when seeking work in other states to avoid similar situations.

The arrival of Nepal’s body brought a wave of grief to the village, where he was well-loved. The community gathered to mourn his loss and support the Tanti family during this difficult time.
