Agartala:  February 27: Senior lawyer Pijush Kanti Biswas has re-joined the Indian National Congress (INC), marking a significant development ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Biswas, known for his legal acumen, officially became a member of the party at the INC’s central office in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The warm reception extended to Biswas included greetings from the Pradesh Congress President and the Pradesh Congress In-Charge. His return to the party has drawn attention, given his prominence in legal circles.

However, in a parallel development, the Agartala Press Club witnessed a press conference where 20 individuals, including Congress Minority Department Chairman Joydul Hossain and Congress leader Ratan Das, announced their resignation from the party. The reasons behind their departure remain undisclosed.

A senior Congress leader, speaking at the press conference, downplayed the situation, emphasizing that this was merely a leadership transition within the Tripura Pradesh Congress Bhavan. The departure of these members does not seem to have caused any major upheaval within the party ranks.

As the election season unfolds, all eyes will be on how these developments impact the political landscape in both Delhi and Agartala. The Congress party faces both gains and losses, with Biswas’ return balancing the scales against the departure of other key figures.
