Agartala April 3: A three-and-a-half-year-old boy named Joy Debnath tragically drowned in the water of the pond while visiting his grandfather’s house in Lankamura in the capital. The grandfather of the dead child said that his daughter brought his three-and-a-half-year-old son on Sunday morning. In the evening, he pretended to be playing behind neighboring house and fell into a pond of the neighboring house.
After a long time, the child’s mother did not find her son and started searching for him in different places. Finally, in the evening, the boy’s dead body was found in the pond. The mother who lost her son burst into tears. Neighbors rushed to rescue the child and took him to IGM Hospital. But the doctor declared Joy Debnath dead. Later, his dead body was sent to GB Hospital morgue for post-mortem. On Monday, the dead body of Joy Debnath was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
Relatives including parents broke down in tears at the hospital after losing their only son. Meanwhile, the dead body of an old woman was recovered from a reservoir in Jalai Tuisa Rabicharan neighborhood under Khoai police station.
