Agartala, June 18: Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Sri Sri Dakshineswari Kali Temple at Bishalgarh, expressing hope that the shrine would emerge as a prominent centre of faith, devotion, and spiritual practice in the years to come.
Addressing a large gathering of devotees, local residents, and dignitaries at the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of spirituality in shaping a peaceful and harmonious society. He said that faith and belief illuminate human life and provide the moral strength needed to overcome challenges, while spiritual consciousness guides society towards the path of righteousness and welfare.
Dr. Saha remarked that the transition from a mindset of atheism to an environment rooted in spirituality helps strengthen peace, moral values, and humanity. According to him, spiritual awareness encourages individuals to cultivate compassion, tolerance, and a sense of responsibility towards society.
The Chief Minister emphasized that places of worship play a vital role in preserving cultural heritage and nurturing spiritual values among people. He noted that the growth of religious and cultural traditions contributes significantly to fostering mutual respect, social harmony, and goodwill in society.
Referring to the newly inaugurated temple, Dr. Saha said it would not only serve as a sacred place for worship but also act as a centre for promoting cultural and spiritual activities. He expressed confidence that the blessings of Maa Dakshineswari would bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to the people of the state.
The Chief Minister also prayed for the continued development of social harmony, communal goodwill, and the spirit of human welfare across Tripura and beyond. He urged citizens to uphold the values of unity, compassion, and mutual respect for the greater good of society.
The temple has been constructed with the special initiative of MLA Sushanta Deb, whose efforts were widely appreciated during the event. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, and other dignitaries, along with a large number of devotees and local residents.
