Agartala: Jan 23: The 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm across Tripura. The occasion was marked by numerous events that honored his legacy as a fearless leader who fought for India’s independence.
In Maharajganj market, Tripura’s Governor, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, paid floral tributes to Netaji’s full-length statue, praising him as the greatest among all heroes who led the country towards freedom. Similarly, the BJP state office commemorated the day with a flag hoisting ceremony and floral tributes to Netaji’s portrait, emphasizing his enduring legacy.
Dharmanagar also observed the day with grand celebrations. The Dharmanagar Municipality, in collaboration with the District Information and Culture Department, organized a program that began with the hoisting of the national flag at Veer Vikram Maidan. A colorful rally, featuring around 3,500 students from nearly 40 schools, was the main highlight. At the conclusion of the rally, participating schools were presented with honorary mementos.
In Kailashahar, the Ex-Servicemen League and Kailashahar Municipality jointly hosted an event at Netaji Corner. Key figures such as Kailashahar Municipality Chairperson Chapala Rani Debray and Sub-divisional Magistrate Pradeep Sarkar attended the program, honoring Netaji’s contributions to the nation.
Sonamura also joined in the celebrations, with floral tributes paid to Netaji’s statue after a morning procession. Local dignitaries, including Sonamura Nagar Panchayat Chairman Shardha Chakraborty, were present to commemorate the occasion.
Finally, Kamalpur marked the day with a large rally organized by the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, with students from various schools honoring the freedom fighters. The celebration in Bishalgarh Anand Marg School included a grand rally, where students paid tribute to Netaji’s indomitable spirit.
Across these events, the spirit of patriotism and admiration for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was palpably felt throughout the region.
