Incidentally, the life of 10,323 teachers was brought into darkness by a judgment of the High Court in 2014. The Tripura High Court canceled the employment on the grounds of illegal recruitment. The dismissed teachers appealed to the Supreme Court against the verdict. The Supreme Court upheld the judgment of the High Court.

For the first time in the history of the Tripura High Court, a full bench headed by Chief Justice AK Singh, Justice T Amarnath Gaur and Justice Arindam Lodh dismissed the petition of dismissed teacher Pranab Dev.

Advocate General Siddharth Shankar Dey was against Advocate Saha in the court that day. After hearing both sides, the full bench not only dismissed the petition but also imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 on the petitioner.
