Khumulwng, May 9: Newly sworn-in Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, Runiel Debbarma, on Friday conducted a series of site visits to review plans for setting up a Civil Services Coaching Centre aimed at supporting and empowering indigenous students in the state.

During the visit, Debbarma said the initiative was part of the council’s broader vision to strengthen educational opportunities for tribal youth and encourage greater participation in competitive examinations.

“Our goal is to empower the young generation through quality education and guidance so that more students from our indigenous society can proudly become IAS, IPS, TCS and other responsible officers in the future,” Debbarma told reporters.

According to officials, the proposed coaching centre will provide structured training and academic support for aspirants preparing for examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). The facility is expected to address a long-standing demand for accessible and affordable civil services coaching within the tribal areas governed by the ADC.

The new CEM also inspected the progress of the upcoming Tata Strive Skill Development Centre at Khumulwng. Officials associated with the project briefed him on the construction work and informed that the centre is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed soon.

The Tata Strive centre is expected to offer vocational training and skill development programmes in various sectors to improve employability and entrepreneurship opportunities among tribal youth. Officials believe the initiative will help bridge the skill gap and create better livelihood prospects for young people in the ADC areas.

Observers view these initiatives as an indication of Debbarma’s proactive approach shortly after assuming office as CEM. The emphasis on education, competitive examination coaching and vocational training is being seen as part of a larger effort to strengthen human resource development in the tribal regions of Tripura.

The initiatives are also expected to contribute towards social and economic empowerment by enabling indigenous youth to access professional careers and self-employment opportunities through education and skill enhancement.
