Their demands include addressing the issue that many students could not fill up the application form for this year’s scholarship due to the late receipt of last year’s scholarship. This has created resentment among the students, and they demand an alternative arrangement for these affected students. Additionally, they request that the positions of hostel superintendent and night guard be filled in all ST hostels across the state. Moreover, they seek an increase in the allowance provided to students residing in boarding houses from Rs 80 to Rs 150.

As a result, they were compelled to protest at the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department today. The students demand an immediate arrangement for providing scholarships and have warned that they will stage a dharna in the coming days if their demands are not met.
