Chowdhury emphasized that the current panchayat’s term is set to conclude in the first week of August, necessitating timely elections. The groundwork has already been laid, with the draft voter list prepared for 35 blocks. In total, there are 12,95,086 registered voters across these blocks, served by 2,650 polling stations.

The draft list includes 6,36,062 female voters, 6,59,013 male voters, and 11 voters categorized as “other.” Currently, the process of reviewing and addressing objections related to the draft list is underway and will continue until June 24. Following the finalization of the voter list on June 24, the election date will be coordinated with the state government.
