Agartala, March 31:
In a proactive move to ensure uninterrupted supply and equitable distribution of petroleum products and essential commodities, a high-level review meeting was held at the State Secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha.
At the outset, the Chief Secretary assessed the prevailing situation with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, and senior officials from multiple departments. He reassured that Tripura is not facing any shortage of essential items, particularly petroleum products, despite reports of supply disruptions in certain parts of the country. “The situation in our state is fully under control,” Sinha stated, urging citizens not to panic.
Emphasising preparedness, he directed all departments to remain vigilant and ready to respond to any emerging challenges. He also called for strict monitoring of supply chains to ensure there are no disruptions that could affect availability of fuel and other necessities.
Highlighting the role of accurate communication, Sinha instructed officials to actively counter misinformation circulating on social media platforms. “No unnecessary panic should be created. Departments must act swiftly to resolve any issues and ensure that correct information reaches the public,” he said. He further warned that strict action would be taken against black-marketing, hoarding, or any attempts to mislead consumers.
The Chief Secretary stressed that safeguarding public interest remains the top priority and that any irregularities must be addressed immediately and effectively. He also asked departments to maintain close coordination to ensure smooth functioning of logistics and supply systems across the state.
The meeting was attended by Pradeep Kumar Chakravarty, Secretary to the Chief Minister, along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries of key departments, the Director General of Police, and representatives from Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL), among others.
The review reflects the state administration’s focus on maintaining stability and ensuring that citizens continue to have uninterrupted access to essential commodities without any inconvenience.
