Agartala: Feb 16: A state-level conference organized by the Tripura Pradesh Kishan Congress and All Tripura Unorganized Workers Congress was held at the Teliamura Chitrangada Kala Kendra on Sunday, drawing attention to the critical issues affecting farmers and workers in the state. The event was marked by strong protests against the central government’s agricultural and labor laws, with slogans demanding their withdrawal and urging the fulfillment of various demands from the farming community. The conference was attended by prominent Congress leaders, including Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and several other Congress members.
The day began with a massive procession led by Congress workers and supporters, which made its way through the Teliamura Assam-Agartala National Road. Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and several Congress workers participated in the rally, which circled through various roads of Teliamura city. The procession then converged at the Teliamura Town Hall and Chitrangada Kala Kendra premises for the state-level conference.
During the event, Congress leaders delivered impassioned speeches, sharply criticizing the policies of the BJP-led central government. They addressed the pressing issues faced by farmers and the unorganized workforce, emphasizing the need for urgent reforms.
